RYC -Thanks for the query. Our de-cataracting went fine. We are now in the multiple eye-drops (different for each of our four eyes) mode, which will continue into June, but the eyes are just like new. Now none of my glasses work very well and I have to wait for a month before getting new ones, but I can see this computer at 1440X852 stretched which is pretty small print. We should have had it done years ago, especially my wife, whose cataracts were much worse than mine.
We have owned a cabin on the shore of a lake in Ellsworth, ME since 1970 and we spend July to mid October there. We are close to the coast and Acadia NP as well as all the rest of DownEast. The first 12 years we had no power of any kind (Aladdin lamps, gas refridg and a wood stove -pumped water up from and bathed in the lake (kind of brisk in October!). Now we have full amenities and I think I'm going to Satellite broadband with my computer this summer as dial-up just doesn't cut it if you do a lot of surfing.
I know where Otis ME is - just down the road - I get gas and the paper at the Otis store, but where is Otisfield?

Otisfield is in the southwestern corner of the state. It's near Oxford, Norway and South Paris. The biggest city is Lewiston/Auburn. My Godfather has a house on Mt. Desert island and I remember in the old days we might have had electricity but that was about it. I believe the house has been upgraded as he lives there full time now and since he's 73 I can't imagine him roughing it like he did when he was younger.

Glad to read the surgeries went well. Dealings with the eyes can be so scary.
